Why Your Pub needs a Beer Cellar Cooling System UK

JE Hall beer cellar refrigeration

Keep Beverages Cold

There is nothing better than a cold beer and when you have beer cellar cooling, you will always have a cool beverage to serve.

Cellar cooling is essential for preserving the quality of your goods, especially certain liquid goods for the operations of bars and pubs who deal with a large volume of drinks each day. They work by forcing chilled air into the cellar at the correct temperature for storing cold drinks and food. Ensuring humidity levels are consistent prevents any mould growth and removes unpleasant smells whilst guaranteeing that your beer’s flavour, temperature and consistency is ready for your customer.

Although the initial investment of a beer cellar cooling system can be significant, it can save you money in the long run by preventing beer spoilage, reducing energy costs and extending the lifespan of your equipment.

Cellar cooling systems are usually split into two parts. This includes the evaporator and the condensing unit. The evaporator unit contains a coil of pipework that works similar to a radiator but in reverse. So chilled liquid refrigerant passes through the coil to keep the temperature cool. The fan inside then continuously pulls in cellar

The condensing unit uses the heat that is taken from the cellar air by the liquid refrigerant, the liquid expands and becomes a gas that is pumped into the condensing unit. Then the refrigerated gas is compressed into a liquid state, releasing the heat. Then the cold liquid refrigerant is moved through to the evaporator coil ready for another cycle.

Improve Shelf Life

Drinks such as cask beer need to be kept at a temperature lower than 13°C or it will go off. If beer is stored at room temperature it will have a very short shelf life. This will not only disappoint customers, but will also affect the profitability of your business; however, beer cellar cooling is the solution!

Cellar Cooling allows you to-

  • Set the desired temperature and often humidity
  • Have a quiet cooling system
  • Ensure your customers are getting the maximum standard of products

If you do have cellar cooling, it is important that you regularly maintain it. We recommend that your cooling system should be serviced once a year, or twice if it is a below ground cellar so that you can ensure your system is working to the highest standard. This needs to be carried out by a professional as it is illegal and dangerous to service your refrigeration yourself.

At DG Climate Control we offer tailored cellar cooling installations to pub and hotel customers all across the UK, as well as repair and maintenance for all cellar cooler brands.

Our systems offer quiet and efficient cooling through copper pipe work, pipe insulation, refrigerant gas and cables. We can always quickly repair any fault as we keep many popular spare parts in stock and with our service you will receive a 5 year warranty for peace of mind.
